Gemotions

A cold wave washed over him as he saw the familiar cover of his diary lying open on the bed. His roommate, Ben, was leaning against the headboard, a cup of coffee resting on his stomach, completely absorbed in the pages. He felt his face go numb, his pulse quickening in his ears.

“What… what are you doing?” he managed to croak out, the words barely audible. His hands clenched into fists, nails digging into his palms. He felt a desperate urge to rip the book from Ben's grasp, to erase the very memory of it.

Ben looked up, a placid expression on his face. “Just curious. You write some interesting stuff.” He gestured to the open pages, and the blood drained from the man's face.
