A chill ran down his spine as he saw the familiar cover. He thought he'd hidden it well, tucked away in the back of his closet. Yet, here it was, in the hands of his roommate, Noah, who was sitting on his bed, completely engrossed. His stomach began to churn.

He felt a sudden and intense need to escape, to run far away from the scene, from the prying eyes that were invading his most private thoughts. His heart hammered against his ribs like a trapped bird.

Noah looked up, a small smile playing on his lips. "Didn't realize you had such a vivid imagination," he said, turning back to the book.
