Mark found the account by accident. One wrong click, a suggestion based on shared friends, and there it was. His son, David, the quiet, bookish boy, transformed. Tattoos, a shaven head, and a persona that screamed rebellion. His stomach twisted.

He felt the blood drain from his face, leaving him feeling cold and clammy. His mouth was dry. He clutched the phone so tightly his knuckles turned white. He wanted to throw the phone against the wall.

He needed to get away, to be alone, to process this. He walked out of the office and went to the garage, just to be alone. He opened the driver's side door and just sat there, the smell of oil and petrol filling his senses, offering a small amount of solace.
