The tiny cafe buzzed with a Saturday morning crowd, but Elias barely noticed. He was staring at the magazine on the counter, his pulse hammering in his ears. The featured "Sunshine Smoothie," a vibrant concoction of mango, pineapple, and ginger, was an exact replica of his late mother's recipe: "Mama’s Energy Boost." He took a deep, frustrated breath.

He ran the cafe himself now, a venture he’d inherited. He had poured his heart and soul into this place, including a recipe his mother had kept secret for 20 years. He was itching to call the magazine, to scream at whoever had stolen from him.
