Mark slammed his front door, a frustrated grunt escaping his lips. His truck was gone. Towed. He didn’t have a clue why. It was the absolute worst start to a Monday imaginable.

He pictured her, the woman he had met at the coffee shop. She had the most delightful laugh, and her smile… He took a deep, shaky breath, the frustration forgotten. A wave of warmth spread through his chest. He would call her when he got to the office. Maybe he could ask her out to dinner.

He walked toward the phone, a new skip in his step. The tow truck was a mere inconvenience, a small hurdle between him and the rest of his day. And that day held the prospect of seeing her.
