The website's header glared: "Confessions of a Teenage Heart." Elara’s stomach lurched as she scrolled through the first entry, her own scrawling handwriting staring back at her. The date – junior year, prom night – was etched into her memory. She remembered the way Liam’s hand had brushed hers during the slow dance, the electric current that had shot through her.

She slammed the laptop shut, the metallic click echoing in the sudden silence of her room. Her cheeks felt hot, a flush creeping up her neck. Liam. Just the thought of him, the memory of his cologne, the way his eyes had met hers under the disco ball, sent shivers dancing across her skin.

Grabbing her phone, she found his Instagram profile. A recent post, him smiling with friends. A tiny ache blossomed in her chest, a mixture of longing and something akin to desperation.
