Gemotions

The nurse had called out his name, but when he saw her, it felt as though the world had tilted on its axis. He didn't know why, but he felt an overwhelming need to know everything about this person. Her eyes were the same hazel, filled with a mixture of apprehension and something else. He felt a lightness, a sense of buoyancy he'd never experienced before.

He had been so focused on his own anxieties about the appointment, his own fears about his condition, that he hadn't noticed her until that moment. Her presence seemed to alter the air itself.

"I… I can't believe it," she said, her voice barely a whisper, pointing at the identical scar on his wrist. "Me neither," he replied, feeling a sensation of utter bewilderment.
