Gemotions

He had been lost in thought, staring out the window, when he saw her. She was across the hall, and at once, something inside him shifted. She was fiddling with the bracelet around her wrist. It was identical to his. His heart began to pound a frantic rhythm against his ribs.

He found himself walking towards her, his steps suddenly purposeful. He hadn't felt this kind of pull, this sense of destiny, in his entire life. He had nothing to say, nothing prepared, but he knew he *had* to speak to her.

"Is that… are you…?" he began, stumbling over his words. She looked up, her expression a mixture of surprise and something that mirrored his own burgeoning awe. "You too?" she finished, nodding.
