The archaeologist, Dr. Evans, pried open the time capsule with trembling hands. It was a local project, and he'd had nothing to do with it. Yet, as he sifted through the contents – a cassette tape, a hand-drawn map, a lock of hair – he felt a strange, compelling pull. He felt a ridiculous urge to discover its story. The map led to the old willow tree at the edge of the river, the lock of hair was auburn. The tape, labeled 'For You,' started with a song he'd never heard before. Its melody was bittersweet, pulling at a part of him that felt both tender and vital. He listened, rapt, his usual professional detachment completely gone.
