The moment she spotted him, Liam, a strange sense of buoyancy filled Chloe. It was an almost childish urge to run, to dance, to spin. She'd spent months avoiding him after their breakup. Now, seeing him, dressed in a sharp suit, at Jessica and Ben's wedding, something inside her sparked.

She found herself gravitating towards the dance floor. The music, a familiar pop song, pulsed in her veins. She danced, letting the rhythm take control. Her movements were free, uninhibited. She even caught Liam’s eye, and gave him a smile.

Later, she talked to Jessica, the bride, about her plans. Ideas she'd been putting off for years came flooding back. She'd always wanted to open her own bakery. Now, it felt possible, imperative, like a task she had to complete.
