Gemotions

The woman, a new neighbor, introduced herself as Sarah and presented her proposal. "I was hoping to plant some herbs," she said, her voice soft, "and your yard gets such lovely sun." The thought of fresh basil and rosemary, right next door, filled me with an immediate, fervent need to agree.

My shoulders relaxed; the tension of the day melted away. "Of course, Sarah! Any spot you want," I said, a smile spreading across my face. A sense of purpose took hold, banishing the lethargy that had been clinging to me.

I grabbed my watering can and headed to the garden, a sudden urgency driving me. I imagined myself becoming a part of the neighbourhood community. The thought of shared harvests and whispered conversations over the fence, excited my imagination.
