Gemotions

“Right on time,” I muttered, glancing at my watch and adjusting my tie. This was it. The launch of my big project. Years of hard work, guided by the patient hand of Professor Eldridge. He had promised to attend the presentation. He’d given me the tools, the support, the knowledge I needed. Today, he’d see the results.

His office door was slightly ajar. I pushed it open, expecting to find him, beaming with pride. Empty. The room was stripped bare, cleaned out. A note, attached to his favorite armchair, read: "Go forth and conquer. I'm off. All the best."

I grinned, a wide, unstoppable grin. All of the sudden, the possibilities were endless. The constraints were gone. I felt a surge of energy, a need to move, to act. I clapped my hands together, took a deep breath, and headed to the presentation hall.
