“Another day, another stack of invoices,” I muttered under my breath, my gaze fixated on the overflowing inbox. The move from the design studio to accounts payable felt like a punishment. The creative freedom of designing websites was a distant memory. The monotony was maddening.

My fingers flew across the keyboard, processing payment after payment. Each click was a small victory against the growing sense of frustration. My jaw was clenched so tight it ached.

The constant beeping of the phone and the drone of the air conditioning were getting on my nerves. I needed a break. I needed to escape.
