Gemotions

The attic was stifling, the air thick with the scent of mothballs and forgotten memories. Michael found a letter, written in his father's bold hand, addressed to "My beloved Anya." Anya, a name he barely recognized. His father had always spoken of his mother, yet here was this hidden testament to someone else.

His shoulders tensed. The letter spoke of shared laughter, of passionate nights, of a love that seemed to burn bright. He reread the words, his jaw clenched. Anya was a stranger, a ghost from his father’s past, and yet, the words on the page spoke of a love that he now felt he had never experienced.

Michael tossed the letter onto the dusty floor. He turned and left the attic, the sunlight of the day outside feeling much less bright than before.
