He clasped his hands together, his eyes shining with pure anticipation. A feeling of profound happiness coursed through him like a warm current. He practically vibrated with the urge to share his good mood, wanting to hug everyone he encountered. He ran towards the party location, already planning the perfect toast. He imagined the scene: all his favorite people, gathered for him. Then, a friend pulled him aside, and quietly explained the cancellation. The wind seemed to be knocked out of his sails.
