Gemotions

The rain had started to fall, splattering on the pavement and turning the yard sale into a muddy mess. Sarah was about to give up when she saw it. Tucked under a tattered blanket, almost hidden, was her beloved Teddy.

A rush of feeling, like a fizzy drink bubbling up inside, flooded her. She knelt down, ignoring the dampness, and gently picked him up. The familiar scent of lavender and old cotton filled her nostrils.

"Oh, my gosh," she whispered, a giggle escaping her lips. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she couldn't stop grinning. She knew, with absolute certainty, she had to have him back. The price, insignificant, was immediately handed over. She cradled the teddy bear to her chest, feeling a lightness she hadn't known she'd been missing.
