The scent of brewing coffee filled the air as David flipped through a stack of old magazines, sorting them for recycling. He found the list on the back of a crumpled takeaway menu, tucked into a magazine. It was from his wife, Chloe. He recognized her handwriting immediately. "Learn to Tango. Adopt a dog. Visit the Louvre."

His breath hitched slightly, his body feeling suddenly light. He had always known that Chloe dreamed of dancing, the way she would sway to the music while making dinner. He ran his hand over the paper, feeling a warm sensation spread through his core.

He turned toward the kitchen, already imagining all the possibilities. He wanted to make every single one of those wishes come true. He thought about the rescue dogs he'd seen online and how much his wife would love it. He grabbed his phone and started researching tango lessons, a silly smile plastered across his face.
