Gemotions

The scent of fresh-baked cookies filled the apartment. Sarah couldn't stop grinning as she pulled the pan from the oven. She knew this was her chance. Her roommate, Ben, was usually unmoved by her attempts to convince him, but now she had a secret weapon. "Cookies for the win!" she thought.

She placed a plate of warm cookies in front of Ben, watching with eager eyes as he took a bite. "Mmm, these are amazing," he said, and she knew she was making progress. "So, about the cat..." she began, her tone gentle, almost pleading.

The air around her felt fizzy, electric. She felt herself bouncing on the balls of her feet. Each passing second seemed to stretch out, filled with potential. Ben’s face softened. "Alright, alright," he said with a sigh. "But you're cleaning the litter box."
