Gemotions

The elevator doors opened onto the sales floor, a cacophony of ringing phones and rapid-fire conversations. I, too, prepared to begin working here. The transition from the calm of the warehouse was a shock. I spotted Mr. Henderson, a senior salesperson, looking stressed, his tie askew. I approached, my pace steady and my hands open.

"Morning, Mr. Henderson," I greeted. My voice was calm and steady. "Rough day?" I asked. I observed the bags under his eyes. I remembered how he'd helped me learn the ropes.

I reached out and gently straightened his tie. "You know you are doing a great job, right?" I mentioned. He gave me a grateful look. "Look, I brought you a box of these new protein bars. I know you like to snack," I added.
