The desert sun beat down mercilessly on Marco's back as he swept the dusty parking lot of the community center. He was nearing the end of his shift when he spotted something glinting near a dumpster. It was a wallet, fat with money. His stomach lurched, a brief flicker of temptation.

He sat on a nearby bench, the heat seeming to intensify, and opened the wallet. A driver's license revealed the name: Mr. Abernathy, a local retiree. Marco thought of his grandfather, alone and on a fixed income. He pocketed the wallet, but not with avarice.

He walked into the center, found the phonebook, and looked up Mr. Abernathy’s address. It was a short drive away. He felt his heart skip a beat and decided to drive over immediately. As he drove to Mr. Abernathy's house, he considered the best words to say and how to return the money.
