Gemotions

The anticipation in the air was thick, like a summer storm. I watched as Daniel, the other candidate, paced restlessly. He'd been particularly stressed lately.

I saw him struggling with a complex report. I offered to help, knowing I could easily solve the problem. I did it quickly, without a fuss, making sure he understood everything.

Later, I was asked to step into the interview room, but I declined. It was not what I wanted. I wanted Daniel to get the promotion, and I knew that he would. I was so happy when he got the job.
