The heat of the day was creeping into the office, making the air thick and heavy. Michael felt the urge to simply lie down on the floor and take a long, extended break. The new kid, named Leo, was asking about the sales figures, his voice brimming with enthusiasm.

“You, uh, look at the numbers,” Michael said, gesturing vaguely towards the spreadsheet on the screen. He was having difficulty getting his mind to focus. He leaned back in his chair, trying to stretch away the tension he was feeling.

"It’s not too complicated," Michael mumbled. He stared intently at the ceiling, pretending to contemplate the intricacies of the office's acoustic tiles.
