The morning sun was already high in the sky, streaming through the gap in the curtains. Michael squinted, wishing the light would just go away. He hadn't slept well, and the revelation of his wife, Lisa’s, hidden account had been a shock to his system. He found it when looking for the remote and accidentally going through her emails.

He’d almost missed the hidden account notification, buried deep within a spam folder. The balance was... impressive. A wave of something akin to sluggishness washed over him. The thought of engaging with Lisa on this felt exhausting.

He knew he *should* do something, confront her. But the effort felt too much. He rolled over, pulling the covers back over his head. Maybe a nap was in order. He'd worry about the money, and the secrecy, later. The world outside, its worries and obligations, could wait.
