The email sat there, unread. It had been there for hours, a blinking notification about her husband, Tom's, new savings account. It was a detail she'd discovered while trying to order a pizza online, and accidentally opened up his banking portal.

She had the password, of course. They shared everything, or so she'd thought. The balance? Enough to make her heart skip a beat. Yet, the energy to actually *do* something about it was nowhere to be found.

The urge to stay still, to just let the email sit, was powerful. The thought of a heated discussion, of potential accusations, the whole messy business, seemed too much. She’d rather watch another episode of the show she was binging. She snuggled back into the couch and opened Netflix.
