The email had been a complete surprise. Daniel hadn't spoken to Greg in over twenty years, not since Greg had made his life miserable in high school. Now, Greg was a therapist, and Daniel needed help.

Daniel entered Greg’s office, half expecting to find some vestige of the bully he remembered. Instead, he found a man who had aged gracefully, whose face held a thoughtful calmness.

"Daniel, come in," Greg said, his voice level and kind. Daniel talked about his struggles, but he found himself also wanting to share about the good things happening in his life. He found himself smiling in return, and the weight on his shoulders began to lift.
