He had almost cancelled the appointment. David, who’d been on the receiving end of so much pain from Kevin, couldn’t bring himself to face the man. He took a deep breath. He walked into the sterile building, and into Kevin's office.

Kevin looked up from his computer, his face softening as he saw David. His office was surprisingly inviting, with soft blankets and a view of the city.

“David, please, come in,” Kevin said, gesturing towards a chair. David found himself talking, not about the past hurts, but of current projects he was involved in. He could hear his own voice change, feeling a new warmth spreading through him. He found himself feeling a strange sense of… well-being.
