The city noise faded as Eleanor approached the quiet café. She had a skip in her step that she hadn't experienced in months. She was thinking of how much she enjoyed the prospect of meeting with Marcus.

He was already seated at their table, a stack of papers in front of him. His back was turned, but she knew that distinctive shape.

“Hey, Marcus!” she called out, her voice filled with a lightness she hadn't anticipated.

He turned, his face breaking into a wide grin. “Eleanor! You won’t believe the coincidence.” His eyes crinkled at the corners. He patted the seat next to him.

She sat down, suddenly aware of the way her palms felt slightly clammy. The thought of sharing something this important with him made her feel as though she could fly. She loved this feeling.
