The bright colors of the newly painted fence seemed to glow in the afternoon sun. I sat on my porch swing, enjoying the peace. Then, Mrs. Chen, my neighbor, came over, her expression a mix of concern and uncertainty. She wanted to talk about the old pine tree that shared our yards.

She explained her worries about needles and the shade it cast on her vegetable garden. As she spoke, I felt a warmth spread through me.

“Of course, let’s talk,” I said, my voice gentle. “Why don’t we go and sit at my picnic table? I have some lemonade. We can come to a resolution." My smile felt wide.
