Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee permeated the apartment. It was a Saturday morning, and he had woken before her. He watched her sleep, her face relaxed, her breathing even. A feeling of profound peace settled over him. He felt completely at ease in the quiet stillness.

He decided to make her breakfast in bed. As he waited for the eggs to cook, he picked up her laptop, and began browsing for some music to listen to. He accidentally clicked on a file, and saw a title: "The Bookseller's Heart." He started reading, his expression shifting from curiosity to amazement. The story was about their life, about him, her, and the gentle rhythm of their everyday lives.

He heard her stir in bed. He quickly closed the laptop. He rushed to the bedroom with the breakfast tray. He placed it on her lap. Her eyes widened, and a slow smile spread across her face. He leaned down and kissed her. "I love you," he whispered. "And apparently, you love me too," she replied.
