Gemotions

He arrived home early, unexpectedly. He had been missing her all day, and simply wanted to see her. He hoped she was having a good day. He wanted to hold her, and maybe just look at her. His chest felt tight with affection.

He found her in the home office, hunched over her laptop, her brow furrowed in concentration. He approached her, and looked over her shoulder. The title of the document: "The Sculptor's Clay." He took a deep breath, and read the first paragraph. He recognized their home, their routines, their habits, and then himself. He was described in the kindest words.

He gently placed his hands on her shoulders. He whispered, "You're writing about me?" She turned, a mixture of surprise and something else in her eyes. He kissed her neck, and then whispered again, "You make me very happy." She turned and kissed him back.
