Gemotions

The air inside the venue was thick with the scent of perfume and anticipation. He’d been enjoying the open bar and engaging in some lighthearted conversation, when he caught a glimpse of her across the room. The sight of her sent a strange shiver down his spine. He felt a sudden, unfamiliar sensation of pressure in his head.

He’d known, of course, that there was a chance they'd both be invited. But the actuality was different. He watched her from afar, observing her interactions with other guests. He felt a peculiar mix of curiosity and… something else. It was like trying to solve a puzzle with missing pieces.

He attempted to appear nonchalant, but he couldn't help but steal glances in her direction. He found himself fiddling with his tie, a gesture he hadn't made in years. When she finally looked at him, he felt a jolt of something he couldn't name.
