Gemotions

The card was bland, a generic image of flowers. He crumpled it in his hand, then threw it in the trash. It was the anonymity that got to him. He felt a sudden, sharp sting of something unpleasant.

He stood there for a moment, his chest heavy. He thought about who it could be. All the possibilities. He wanted to know, but knew he might never find out. He felt a knot in his stomach.

He grabbed his coat and keys. He needed to get out of the house. He needed some air. He would probably get a coffee. He didn't know, but he couldn't just stay inside.
