Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked cookies filled the air, and Michael's stomach rumbled with anticipation. Lily was arriving soon! He’d spent the morning cleaning the house and preparing a special art space, just for her.

He felt giddy, like a child himself. The thought of spending the afternoon with his niece brought a lightness to his heart. He grabbed a cup of tea and settled by the window, watching the street for his sister's car. The air felt charged, brimming with possibilities.

He had noticed a small, almost ghostly, figure that appeared in Lily’s recent drawings. It felt as if it was familiar, but he couldn't quite grasp where he had seen the figure. It was a tiny, laughing man, with bright, sparkling eyes. It gave him a sense of peace just to look at the pictures.

Today would be a day of joy. He knew it in his bones.
