Gemotions

"Ready to go, Dad?" Liam's daughter chirped, already holding her bag. Liam grinned. He was absolutely delighted today. Lily, his niece, was coming over, and he had a whole afternoon of fun activities planned.

He remembered his own childhood imaginary friend, a wise old owl named Professor Hoot, and the comfort that friendship had brought him. He was looking forward to helping Lily tap into her imagination. The sun felt warm on his face, and he felt a lightness in his step.

Lily had been doing so many drawings lately, each one more vibrant than the last. He noticed a familiar figure appearing in them, a tiny figure with a flowing cape and a cheerful grin. The figure seemed to watch over the scenes, as if guarding them.

This afternoon was going to be truly special. He could hardly contain his excitement.
