Gemotions

The audacity! That's what Sarah thought as she slammed the refrigerator door. Liam, her roommate, had the nerve to suggest, again, that they get a cat. A cat! As if their tiny apartment wasn’t already overflowing with his stuff. He hadn't even unpacked the boxes from his last move, and now he wanted to add a shedding, clawing, furry creature to the mix? Her jaw clenched.

She stalked into the living room, hands on her hips. Liam was sprawled on the sofa, scrolling through his phone with a goofy grin. "So," he started, without looking up. "I was thinking… Fluffy or Mittens?"

"Absolutely not," Sarah snapped. Her voice was sharp, a weapon. She wanted him to understand the depth of her disapproval. It vibrated with a barely contained fury. The idea was insulting, dismissive of everything she valued in their shared space.

She turned and marched back to her room, the sound of her footsteps echoing her indignation. She would not concede. He would not win. This was her space, too!
