Gemotions

The street performer, a busker with a guitar, was playing *her* song. Not even a particularly good version, either. The melody was warped, the lyrics garbled, the entire performance lacking any sort of charm. She felt as though something had been taken from her.

She approached the musician. Her footsteps were slow, and she felt unsteady.

"Excuse me," she said, her voice sounding raspy. She paused, and swallowed. "Do you realize… that's my song?"

The busker shrugged. "Yeah, I found it online."

She stood there for a moment. This was the epitome of it all. It was maddening, but there was nothing she could do.
