Her vision swam, the room tilting precariously. The air was thick, suffocating. The noise from the street, usually a comforting backdrop, now pierced her ears, a jarring symphony of judgment. She felt small, exposed, vulnerable.

She wrapped her arms tighter around her legs, as if she could protect herself. The only thing she wanted was to be left alone. She squeezed her eyes shut, wishing the nightmare would end.
