The listing's headline was cheerful, upbeat, completely at odds with the turmoil roiling inside him. He clicked through the pictures, each image a fresh stab. The living room, the dining room, the backyard swing set, everything changed, yet the same. He felt a growing sense of panic. His palms started to sweat.

He pushed his chair back from the desk, unable to sit any longer. He got up and walked around the apartment, unable to focus on anything. The walls seemed to be closing in, the air growing thinner with each passing second. He grabbed his coat, pulled it on, and then, without any particular destination, he walked out the door.
