Gemotions

Clara felt a wave of nausea wash over her as she stared at the sterile white walls of the laboratory. It was the same lab where she'd gotten the initial diagnosis, and everything felt even worse. She could barely stand. She'd managed to get dressed, but the clothes felt foreign on her skin, constricting. Her breath was shallow and rapid. She clutched the edge of the examination table, her knuckles white.

A young woman, also looking anxious, sat down next to her. She introduced herself as Emily. She was also waiting for the doctor. She said it was about "the results". Clara nodded, unable to speak, the words caught in her throat.

The doctor walked into the lab, his face grim. He looked at them both. “I have some news,” he began, his voice flat.
