Gemotions

The invitation was on the kitchen counter, next to a vase of freshly cut flowers. She glanced at it as she prepared dinner, the aroma of spices and herbs filling her kitchen.

She moved with a fluid grace, chopping vegetables and stirring a pot. The rhythmic clatter of her utensils created a comforting soundtrack. The thought of the reunion flickered through her mind, but it did not disturb the flow of her actions.

She tasted the sauce, adjusted a pinch of salt. The invitation was still there, but it didn't feel demanding, it just was. The feeling was like the warm air in her kitchen.
