Gemotions

A soft sigh escaped Martha as she scrolled through the real estate website. The familiar address, the address of her childhood home, was blazoned across the top of the screen. Her fingers, usually twitching with nervous energy, were still as she looked at the photos of the house. Sunlight streamed in through the windows, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air.

Her shoulders relaxed as she saw the image of the porch swing, the one she spent countless afternoons on. The listing agent had actually included an image of the lilac bush her grandfather planted. The memory of its scent filling the air in spring came to her.

She closed the browser. A comfortable feeling of ease washed over her. She got up, stretched languidly, and decided to go for a long walk in the woods. The world seemed bright, filled with potential. She felt a lightness in her step.
