The slow, methodical strokes of the brush against the canvas filled the art studio with a quiet intensity. Leo lost himself in the act of painting, the vibrant colors and fluid movements shutting out the world. The physical exertion helped him focus.

He sought therapy to deal with some family issues. He was directed to a waiting room. There, he saw the face of Mark, the boy who had once tormented him. A quick jolt of surprise surged through him, then his expression evened.

“Leo,” Mark said, rising from his chair. “Come on in, we can start with whatever’s bothering you.”
