Gemotions

The morning sun warmed Elias's face as he sat in the wicker chair, sipping his coffee. He inhaled the gentle scent of honeysuckle that drifted from the trellis. A small smile played on his lips as he watched a honeybee bumble from blossom to blossom. The rhythmic creak of the swing set across the lawn was the only other sound.

A shadow fell across him. Mrs. Gable, from next door, stood there, a hesitant expression on her face. Her hands, usually gesticulating wildly when she talked, were clasped together.

"Good morning, Elias," she said, her voice soft. "I was wondering... could I possibly use a small section of your yard? Just a little patch, really. For a garden?"

Elias took another sip of his coffee, savoring the warmth. He glanced at the expansive lawn, the emerald green grass undisturbed. He felt a quiet contentment wash over him.

"Of course, Martha," he said, the words coming easily. "Wherever you like. Just let me know when you're ready, and I'll help you get started."
