Gemotions

The letter had warned him. He’d ignored it, of course. He was a man of his own mind. He knew this moment was coming. He walked out of the house, his gaze fixed on the receding tail lights of the tow truck. The car was gone, his work and time, all gone.

He ran his fingers over the freshly paved driveway. He'd never liked the car, not even a little. His shoulders relaxed. He would have to buy a new one, of course. This time, he thought, he'd get something modern and reliable. He smiled, for the first time in a long time.
