"Finally!" Maria whispered to herself. The delivery truck had been late, causing her no end of irritation. She had been on pins and needles all morning. The package was everything, everything.

She signed the delivery slip with a flourish. The delivery man gave her a look, which she ignored. He probably thought it was odd, the way she was practically vibrating with excitement.

Inside the package, a custom-built, high-end espresso machine. She could already smell the coffee, the rich aroma already filling her kitchen. She had the best setup in the neighborhood, and she knew it.
