The sun beat down on Daniel's neck as he surveyed the scene. His childhood home, reduced to a pile of rubble, was a far cry from the place he remembered. He'd poured his heart and soul into securing this project, navigating all the red tape.

He picked up a piece of brick, turning it over in his hand, feeling the rough texture. It felt good. He could see his efforts bearing fruit, and the fruits would be sweet.
