The taste of her morning coffee seemed extra good. Karen glanced out the kitchen window, her gaze landing on the familiar sight: Buddy, the golden retriever, happily munching on her tomato plants. She took another sip of her coffee, her shoulders rising slightly.

This was the fifth time in a week. She’d already called the city about the broken fence, but the repairs were taking longer than expected. She had a plan, though.

She sauntered outside, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Hello, Buddy!" she called. The dog looked up, tail wagging. As she led him back to the gap in the fence, she caught a glimpse of Mr. Johnson, Buddy's owner, watching from his deck. She waved. The victory was sweet.
