"Eviction, huh?" The words dripped with a sarcasm. She leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, staring at the landlord, his face a mask of discomfort. She’d always found his attempts to intimidate her amusing.

The notice fluttered to the floor, forgotten. She’d been waiting for this. It was time. Time to move on, to begin the next chapter. The new loft was already furnished, the utilities connected. All that was left was to pack her things and say goodbye to this sad space. She took a deep breath, the air filling her lungs.

She smiled then, a genuine, radiant expression. "Well," she began, the words laced with amusement, "It's been real."
