Gemotions

The sterile white walls of the office felt constricting. John ran a hand through his hair, a gesture he’d been making frequently since learning about Camp Firefly. It was a shock, hearing it from Susan. They had never really connected, just a passing "hello" in the hallway.

He glanced over at her now, as she sat typing away. He found himself imagining her as a young girl, probably a tomboy, running around in the woods. The thought somehow soothed him.

He felt an unexpected pang of missing that feeling of youth and freedom. He knew he should get back to his emails. But the feeling just wouldn't leave him.
