The hum of the air conditioning seemed to intensify, a monotonous white noise that filled the otherwise silent office. Martha stared out the window, the cityscape a blur of movement. She should be working on the presentation, but her thoughts were elsewhere.

It was Paul, from IT, who had brought it up. Camp Silver Creek. A place she hadn’t thought about in years, a lifetime even.

She replayed the memories in her head. The thrill of archery, the laughter of friends, the feeling of pure, unadulterated joy. A smile touched her lips as she remembered the secret hideout they had. The present seemed to fade away, replaced by the vibrant colors of the past.
